How to choose the right density
By style
For sleek straight styles and natural everyday looks, 150% is usually enough, and it keeps the wig light. For curls, body wave, and bouncy blowout styles, 180% is the sweet spot because curl patterns eat up visual fullness. For voluminous glam styles, heavy layers, or anything meant to look intentionally full on camera, choose 200%.
By length
Length changes how density reads. A 14 inch bob at 150% looks full because all the hair sits in a short shape, while a 30 inch wig at 150% can look wispy at the ends. A useful rule of thumb: up to 16 inches, 150% works well; 18 to 22 inches, consider 180%; 24 inches and longer, 200% keeps the ends looking as full as the roots.
